What Does the Treatment Process Look Like?

    1. Implant Consultation

The first step is an initial consultation where our specialist assesses your oral health and bone condition using a panoramic X-ray or CT scan. Based on the comprehensive consultation, an individual treatment plan and cost estimate are prepared.

    2. Preparation for the Procedure

If bone tissue loss prevents immediate implant placement, bone restoration may be required. This process uses state-of-the-art techniques to ensure durable and safe results.

    3. Implant Placement Procedure

The implant placement is a quick and painless procedure performed under local anaesthesia. After the procedure, a process called osseointegration takes place, lasting 2 to 6 months.

    4. Prosthetic Restoration

Once osseointegration is complete, the prosthetic restoration is performed. This involves placing a crown, bridge, or denture on the implant.

  • How to deal with tooth sensitivity

Summer is drawing closer. Many of us associate the summer heat with consuming ice cream, milk shakes, and cold drinks – the ideal way to cool down and refresh yourself in the smouldering heat. However, some of us can’t fully enjoy those means because of tooth sensitivity. There are ways to go around that, however!
    Overcoming sensitivity
Tooth sensitivity is characterised by a sharp pain that occurs when the tooth comes in contact with:
    • Hot drinks
    • Cold meals
    • Sour substances
Pharmacies often carry pastes and mouthwash that can help alleviate the symptoms for some time, but they won’t bring lasting relief or make your teeth resistant to pain in the future. It’s recommended that you reach the source of the pain. Sensitivity is often caused by the dental pulp or tooth necks being exposed. The most effective way of bringing your tooth sensitivity levels to normal is sandblasting – it can help close the dentinal tubules, as well as rebuild and strengthen plaque, protecting the dental pulp from external factors.
    Good habits are key
It’s also important to take a look at our habits, as many of our behaviours can influence tooth sensitivity. Grinding our teeth or brushing them too fiercely can lead to plaque weakening which, consequently, exposes the tooth’s more sensitive areas. It’s also important to keep a healthy diet. Not eating properly can lead to reflux, which causes stomach acid to reach the mouth, which weakens plaque. Fruit acids and candy also negatively impact our teeth’s sensitivity, so it’s important to take all things in moderation.
  • The painful consequences of malocclusion

Many people neglect malocclusions. It may seem logical to think that your occlusion shouldn’t have a big impact on our well-being. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. It turns out that a fourth of all headaches are caused by malocclusion. Aside from headaches, malocclusion may also cause pain in the eyes, neck, back, and spine. That’s why it’s a good idea to visit your dentist once in a while if traditional ways of treating headaches fail you.
Temporomandibular joints – the source of everything
The main source of headache caused by malocclusion are the temporomandibular joints. These are very complex systems comprised of bones, ligaments, muscles, and joint discs, located symmetrically on both sides of the head. These are the elements connecting the jaws to the skull. Practically every jaw movement, e.g. eating, talking, etc., utilises these joints. The pain comes into play when a joint compression occurs –  this is a result of a jaw getting “overworked”. The joint compression causes tensions which are one of the most common reasons for migraines.
    Pain may come with age
For many people, malocclusion comes with age. This is because teeth rub out, decreasing the contraction height. This is why, even if we’ve never suffered headaches caused by jaw tensions, we can still experience that in the future. It’s recommended that you visit an orthodontist if you feel pain in the head or neck, tension in the temple muscles, or experience tinnitus.
  • The role of the tongue in tooth diseases

We know that dental hygiene should be an important part of our life. There is a lot of talk about brushing teeth and flossing, but we often forget about tongue hygiene. This can prove detrimental to our health, as the tongue is one of the largest bacteria dwellings in the mouth. Even if we take care of our teeth, as long as we skip the tongue, we are still susceptible to harmful bacteria.
    The importance of regular hygiene
It’s important to remember to scrub your tongue every time you brush your teeth. You don’t need any specialised equipment for this – you can use the same brush you use to brush your teeth. This will help you maintain a fresh breath for a long time. It is estimated that nearly 90% of bad breath cases are caused by the tongue.
    Far-reaching consequences
Tongue hygiene can also influence far more serious aspects of our life, even things as unexpected as heart issues. Oral hygiene is tightly linked to our cardiovascular system, which is why neglecting your teeth may lead to heart rate issues, atherosclerosis, or even heart attacks. A properly cleaned tongue also influences our immune system, as well as our digestive system. By keeping it clean, we can greatly decrees the risk of teeth and gun disease, as well as hone our sense of taste and smell.
A healthy tongue in a healthy body
By taking care of our tongue’s hygiene, we can greatly influence our organism. The healthier we are, the better we feel. That’s why it’s a good idea to spend a couple of seconds to clean your tongue while brushing your teeth.
